Privacy Notice

The Rahila Ninsen Emmanuel Bright Futures Initiatives Foundation (BFI Foundation) is committed to protecting personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and the directives of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

What we collect. When you contact us, register interest in a programme, or make a pledge, we collect the information you provide — typically your name, contact details, and the content of your message. Our website uses cookies as described in the consent banner; you may decline non-essential cookies without affecting your access to the site.

How we use it. We use personal data only to respond to you, to administer the programmes or support you have asked about, and to keep you informed where you have asked us to. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it outside the Foundation except where the law requires or where a service provider processes it on our instructions.

Children. Where the Foundation’s work involves the personal data of a child, it is processed only with the consent of a parent or guardian, and held to the stricter standard set out in our safeguarding policy: minimum necessary information, restricted access, and no disclosure to donors, who receive aggregate reporting only.

Your rights. Under the NDPA you may ask what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and withdraw consent you have given. To exercise any of these rights, contact info@thebfifoundation.org.

Retention. We keep personal data no longer than needed for the purpose it was collected, and in line with our legal obligations.

This notice was last updated in August 2026 and is reviewed as the Foundation’s activities develop.
